NOTES FROM A WORKING WORKSHOPHARDWARE / SOFTWARE / EVERYTHING BETWEEN

ShedStack

A home server with a growing job list. Storage, photos, local services, and the next experiment.

## A server that earns its space
ShedStack started with spare hardware and a practical question: how much of our digital life can I run myself? It has become a home for storage, photos, and services I can understand and control.

The hardware has grown along with the job list. The server now has an eight-core CPU and 32 GB of RAM, with the memory tested after installation. The graphics card brings 10 GB of VRAM, opening up more experiments with local processing.

## On the bench
The next useful work is making the pieces behave as one system: checking which jobs actually use the GPU, keeping backups understandable, and exploring local camera recording. More hardware is only helpful when the software is using it.

## What this log will capture
- Hardware choices and the reasons behind them
- Service setup and migration notes
- Failures, recovery steps, and things worth checking twice
- Real measurements when they're available

This is a living build log. Configuration details will be added as they are checked.
