Exploring a local route from an Ethernet camera to a home NVR, with fewer dependencies on a vendor app.

The goal is to use an Ethernet camera with a locally controlled recording system. The first hurdle has been learning how the device starts, connects, and exposes its video.
The camera has produced a feed in its vendor app. The next question is whether a supported local streaming path is available, and what it takes to make it reliable.
This is still an investigation. A working app feed is not yet the same thing as a working local NVR integration.
